Dr. Tamburini is the Registrar at the Gastrointestinal Surgery Unit of the San Raffaele Research Hospital, Milan.

Over 2,000 surgical procedures performed as a main surgeon, mainly related to proctology and lower GI, most of them with minimal invasive approach (Laser surgery, Laparoscopic surgery).
Main interests: biomeolecolar prognostic factors of colorectal cancer and gastric cancer.
Results of neoadjuvant therapy in rectal cancer and proctology.
Over 250 publications (abstracts, clinical and experimental indexed papers) most of them presented at numerous international conferences.
Winner in 2009 of Rotary Award for research in biomolecular prognostic factors rectal cancer in 2011 Best Poster Award for prognostic role of VEGF in gastric cancer.
Principal investigator in 3 institutional translational research protocols.
