Eustachio Agricola is the Director of Echocardiography Laboratory of San Raffaele Research Hospital, Milan, Italy.

He is expert in transesophageal echocardiography, stress echo imaging and myocardial deformation imaging. His main clinical topic is the valvular heart diseases (particularly mitral, aortic and tricuspid).

In recent years, he has devoted his research and clinical activities to the Interventional Echocardiography (echocardiographic support for percutaneous treatment of structural heart diseases: Cardioband, MitraClip, Percutaneous Mitral Valve Replacement, TAVI, Percutaneous Tricuspid valve repair, LAA closure, PVL closure), becoming one of the most important international expert in this field.

He is author or co-author of more than 170 peer-reviewed papers, related to Cardiac Imaging (Scopus).

His main interest is Echocardiography.

He has been chairman and/or speaker in more than 200 international and national congresses and courses.

He is Associate Editor of International Journal of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Ultrasound.

Member of the editorial board of European Heart Journal of Cardiovascular Imaging.

In 2014-16, he served as Chairman of the Working Group of Echocardiography of Italian Society of Cardiology, and member of Research and Innovation Committee of the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging.

He is currently elected member of Echo Section and member of Web and Communication Committee of the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging.

Core interests in innovations, echocardiographic monitoring of new percutaneous approach to structural heart disease (in particular mitral valve repair and tricuspid valve), pre-clinical animal/bench study for development of new cardiac devices, and development and test of new prototypes echocardiographic tools.
