Electrophysiology consultant at the Arrhythmology Department at San Raffaele University & Research Hospital.
EHRA Certified Electrophysiology Specialist levels (ECES level 1 & 2) for electrophysiology.
He received his medical education at the Sacred Heart Catholic University of Rome, Italy, followed by a fellowship in electrophysiology at the Bristol Heart Institute, Bristol, UK (2013-2015). After 2 years he has been awarded by the European Heart Rhythm Association for a one-year research fellowship in EP at the Hopital Haut Leveque, Bordeaux, France. He remained for other two years (until 2018) to complete a Ph.D. program, during which performed more than 300 electrophysiological and pacing procedures as well clinical and experimental research at the LIRYC institute directed by Prof. Haissaguerre.
He has been appointed as clinical Electrophysiologist at San Raffaele Hospital in March 2018.
Dr.Antonio Frontera’s clinical interests include diagnosis and treatment of complex cardiac arrhythmias with a particular focus on catheter ablation of atrial tachycardia and ventricular tachycardia. His research focuses on the substrate characterization of complex arrhythmias in patients with structural heart disease and developing novel methods and applications for signal analysis and software algorithms regarding arrhythmia detection, including mathematical simulation.
- Over 500 interventional procedures (EP and Pacing) performed as first operator.
- Over 80 experimental and clinical articles peer-reviewed in the field of pacing and Electrophysiology.
Research area: Sudden death, Ventricular tachycardia, Atrial Arrhythmias, EGM signal analysis.
Awards : Second finalist at the Young Investigators Award - Heart Rhythm Society 2018
