Federica Invernizzi

Biography

Doctor Federica Invernizzi is the Head of the Clinical Hepatology Unit at the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan and clinical coordinator of the Genos project, the Center for Preventive and Personalized Medicine at the same facility. She also serves as a hepatologist consultant at San Raffaele-Turro for the Psychiatry department.

After graduating with honors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 2009, she specialized in Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy in 2016 at the University of Milan, also with honors.

In 2012, she obtained the National Diploma in Clinical Ultrasonography, in 2020 the Second-level Master's Degree in Transplant Medicine, with a professional qualification as a transplant hepatologist from AISF, and in 2022 the Master's Degree in Applied Nutrition and Dietetics.

From 2017 to 2021, Dr. Invernizzi was a fixed-term collaborator at the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Unit (Transplant Hepatology Department) of the Ca' Granda Foundation, Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico, University of Milan.

Currently, she primarily conducts outpatient activities in various fields of hepatology and provides consultancy services in other departments, with a particular interest in metabolic/toxic and autoimmune issues. She also has extensive experience in managing complex liver patients (especially in terms of transplantation) and liver transplant patients. She performs abdominal ultrasound and inpatient activities in solvent general medicine.

Her research activities focus on liver diseases, with a particular initial interest in transplantation, followed by a growing focus on gender differences, autoimmune disorders, and metabolic issues, including metabolic syndrome, obesity, sarcopenia, eating disorders, and alcohol use disorders.
