Francesco Caruso

Dr. Francesco Caruso is a specialist consultant at the Proctology and Pelviperineology Unit of Policlinico San Pietro.  

In 2008, he graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from La Sapienza University of Rome, where he also specialized with honors in Digestive System Surgery and Digestive Endoscopy in 2014.  

Throughout his career, he has been actively involved in surgical practice at the General, Oncological, and Minimally Invasive Surgery Unit at Policlinico San Marco in Zingonia and at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan, as well as in various healthcare facilities in Lombardy.  

Dr. Caruso's areas of interest include benign and malignant coloproctology, laparoscopic surgery for hernias and incisional hernias, gallbladder surgery, obesity and bariatric surgery, and abdominal oncological surgery, with a particular focus on minimally invasive techniques.  

Since 2020, he has served as the medical director for general, bariatric, minimally invasive, and proctological surgery in various healthcare facilities in Calabria.  

Since 2023, he has been an adjunct professor of Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery at San Raffaele University in Rome.  

He is the author and co-author of numerous national and international scientific publications.  

He has participated in several conferences, both in Italy and abroad, also as a speaker.
