Livia Archibugi
Biography
Dr. Livia Archibugi is a Gastroenterologist and Endoscopist at the BilioPancreatic Endoscopy and Ecoendoscopy Department, directed by Professor Paolo Giorgio Arcidiacono, at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan. She has been a lecturer for the Specialization Degree in Gastroenterology at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University since 2022. Dr. Archibugi has been a lecturer for the II level Master's Degree in EUS and ERCP at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University since 2022.
In 2012 she graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Rome La Sapienza, after spending 3 months at the American government NIH laboratories in Bethesda with an experimental thesis concerning pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors.
In 2013 Dr. Archibugi attended the Specialist Degree Course in Gastroenterology at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" (Sant'Andrea Hospital) where she graduated in 2018 with 70 cum laude with an experimental thesis on pancreatic cancer.
From 2016 to 2018 he attended the Pancreas2000 course (Master Course of the Karolinska University and the European Pancreas Club).
In 2018 he won the competition for the international research doctorate in molecular medicine, Curriculum of "Clinical and Experimental Medicine", with a diploma obtained in 2022 with honors at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University with a translational research project on pancreatic cancer.
In 2022 she was awarded a post-doc to continue her research on pancreatic cancer.
Since 2018 Dr. Archibugi has worked as a consultant and then as an employee at the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in the Biliopancreatic Endoscopy and Echoendoscopic Department, dealing mainly with ERCP and biliary-pancreatic pathologies.
Dr. Archibugi mainly deals with pancreatic diseases (pancreatic cancer, pancreatic cysts, acute pancreatitis and chronic pancreatitis and others) and biliary tract diseases (biliary tract tumors and biliary tract stones), following both outpatients and inpatients for complex procedures such as ERCP with bile duct stenting, with stone removal, as well as outpatient gastroscopy and colonoscopy with possible removal of polyps and outpatients with general gastroenterological pathologies.
She holds prominent roles in national and international scientific societies, actively participating in conferences both as a speaker and as a moderator. She has served as Trainee Editor for the UEGJournal magazine, is currently a member of the UEG Qulity of Care Committee, member of the Communication Task Force of the Italian Association of Pancreas Studies. She participates in the drafting of national and international guidelines in the pancreatology and endoscopic fields.
She has published over 70 scientific articles and 3 book chapters.
