Marco Azzola Guicciardi (Марко Аццола Гуиччарди)

Биография

Dr. Marco Azzola Guicciardi is a general and bariatric surgeon in the Bariatric Surgery Unit at Istituto Clinico Beato Matteo in Vigevano.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pavia in 1980 and obtained a specialization in Emergency Surgery from the University of Milan in 1985. He also specialized in Vascular Surgery in 1973. Additionally, he completed the ACOI Master’s program in Obesity Surgery and Day Surgery.

Dr. Guicciardi is part of the bariatric surgery team at Istituto Clinico Sant'Ambrogio and serves as a consulting surgeon at Clinica San Martino in Malgrate (LC).

He trained at Sondrio Hospital until 1990 and at Fatebenefratelli and Oftalmico Hospital in Milan until 2000.

He then served as Head of Surgery at Chiavenna Hospital for three years and, until the end of 2020, at Sant'Antonio Abate Hospital in Cantù (CO) in the General, Laparoscopic, and Minimally Invasive Surgery Department, where he established centers for colorectal surgery, obesity surgery, and day surgery.

Dr. Guicciardi has been a lecturer at:

  • The International Faculty of the European Institute of Telesurgery at the Cancer Research Institute of the University of Strasbourg (France)
  • The European Surgical Institute in Hamburg (Germany)
  • The Master’s program in Laparoscopic Surgery at Aesculap Academia in Tuttlingen (Germany)

He is currently a lecturer at the ACOI School of Laparoscopic Surgery and a founding member of the Perioperative Italian Society.
