Dr. Alexander Meersseman is an orthopedic surgeon and assistant at the Orthopedics and Traumatology Unit, as well as the Head of the Orthopedic Emergency Room at IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi-Sant’Ambrogio. This unit is renowned for being a national reference point for femoral fractures. He is also an orthopedic specialist at Casa di Cura La Madonnina.
After earning his degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 2007, Dr. Meersseman specialized in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the same institution in 2013.
Throughout his career, Dr. Meersseman has gained experience at several prestigious institutions, including:
- The Hospital for Special Surgery, focusing on trauma and hip surgery
- The Eeufesst Clinic in Antwerp, where he performed knee arthroscopic surgery and tendon reconstruction of the lower limbs
- The Tilak-Tiroler Landeskrankenanstalten, where he specialized in anterior hip prosthesis techniques
He is skilled in treating fractures and articular fractures (those near joints) through osteosynthesis or prosthetic replacement, with significant expertise in sports-related fractures.
