Edoardo Vespa (Эдоардо Веспа)

Dr. Edoardo Vespa is a gastroenterologist at the Unit of Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, directed by Professor Silvio Danese.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2017 from the University of Catania and later specialized in Gastroenterology in 2022 at Humanitas University. Following his specialization, he completed a training and research period at the Esophageal Center of Northwestern University in Chicago, a pioneering center for esophageal diseases and high-resolution esophageal manometry, where he deepened his knowledge of the latest techniques for studying esophageal motility, including EndoFLIP.

Dr. Vespa's clinical practice focuses not only on common gastroenterological conditions but also particularly on esophageal diseases, such as achalasia, eosinophilic esophagitis, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), hiatal hernia, esophageal motility disorders, dysphagia, and swallowing disorders.

In addition to performing diagnostic and therapeutic esophagogastroduodenoscopies and colonoscopies, he is involved in the diagnostic outpatient activities of the Functional Unit of Digestive Physiology (high-resolution manometry, 24-hour pH-impedance monitoring).

He is the author and co-author of over 30 scientific articles published in indexed journals and consistently participates as a speaker at national and international congresses and conferences in his field.
