Marta Puzzono (Марта Пуццоно)

Dr. Marta Puzzono is a gastroenterologist at the Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy Unit of IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, directed by Professor Silvio Danese.
After earning her bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences in 2009 and her medical degree in 2014, both from the University of La Sapienza in Rome, she specialized in Digestive Diseases in 2019 at the same university. In 2020, she began her PhD in "Genetics, Oncology, and Clinical Medicine XXXVI" (GenOMec) at the University of Siena.
Dr. Puzzono's clinical work focuses particularly on hereditary gastrointestinal cancer syndromes as part of the GASTRO PER ME (GASTROintestinal PERsonalised Medicine) program, directed by Professor Giulia Martina Cavestro. This program is dedicated to the care of families with genetic mutations that cause hereditary conditions, including Lynch syndrome, classic and attenuated familial polyposis, Peutz-Jeghers syndrome, juvenile polyposis, Gardner syndrome, familial and hereditary pancreatic cancer, and familial and hereditary gastric cancer. Additionally, Dr. Puzzono conducts outpatient visits in general gastroenterology and performs diagnostic and operative endoscopy of the upper (esophagogastroduodenoscopy) and lower digestive tracts (pancolonoscopy).
Dr. Puzzono is also involved in research on hereditary gastrointestinal cancer syndromes, with a particular focus on young-onset colon cancers (under 50 years), for which she received a research grant in 2020 from the University Vita-Salute San Raffaele.
She is the author and co-author of several publications in specialized scientific journals and consistently participates in national and international conferences in the field.
