Biografía

Dr. Luigi Di Filippo serves as a University Researcher and Lecturer in Endocrinology at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan. He also holds the position of Assistant Medical Specialist in Endocrinology at the Endocrinology Unit of IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, directed by Prof. Andrea Giustina.

Dr. Di Filippo graduated with honors (110/110 cum laude) and distinction in Medicine and Surgery from the Faculty of Medicine at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan. He then specialized in Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases at the School of Specialization in Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases.

His outpatient clinical activity focuses on both general and specialized endocrinology, with a particular emphasis on thyroid disorders, osteo-metabolic conditions, and pituitary diseases.

Dr. Di Filippo's scientific and research activity has been highly productive, as evidenced by his 36 publications in high-impact international journals. His ongoing research focuses on the following topics:

  • Identification and characterization of osteo-metabolic complications of pituitary diseases.
  • Identification and definition of the clinical role of hypocalcemia in COVID-19 patients.
  • Study of bone and metabolic-nutritional complications related to COVID-19.
  • Identification of diagnostic biological markers for neuroendocrine tumors.
  • Identification and characterization of thyroid diseases post-COVID-19 vaccination.
  • The role of vitamin D in skeletal and extra-skeletal diseases.
