Biografía

Dr. Marco Ometti is an Orthopedic Specialist at the Orthopedics and Traumatology Unit of IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan, led by Professor Vincenzo Salini.

After obtaining his degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan, he completed his specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology with top honors.

From 2007 to 2011, Dr. Ometti served as a physician for the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI).

In October 2011, he was a guest of Dr. Frédéric Laude, director of the Orthopedic University Clinic in Paris, where he gained experience in the anterior minimally invasive approach to hip prosthetic surgery. This expertise was further refined in 2019 with Prof. Kristoff Corten at Ghent Hospital in Belgium.

Currently, Dr. Ometti focuses on hip-related conditions and treatments, performing:

  • Hip prosthesis surgeries using both traditional and minimally invasive techniques, addressing conditions such as primary osteoarthritis, secondary osteoarthritis due to fractures, osteonecrosis, congenital dysplasia, and Perthes disease.
  • Bone marrow aspirate procedures enriched with stem cells from the iliac crest or peri-umbilical adipose tissue, followed by intra-articular injections for osteoarthritis unresponsive to other conservative therapies.
  • Core decompression procedures for avascular necrosis of the femoral head.
  • Ultrasound-guided hip injections for arthritis management.
