Professor Rosati has extensive experience in open and minimally invasive surgery of the digestive tract, especially in the field of foregut and large bowel diseases; multidisciplinary approach consisting in application of chemo and chemoradiotherapy protocols in neoadjuvant setting is strongly enforced.
He has given lectures and performed live surgical procedures at many international meetings worldwide. He leads one of the most recognized “High Volume Centers” for esophageal surgery in Italy.
He has also a thorough experience in hepatobiliary, pancreatic, and endocrine surgery, with treatment available both with open and laparoscopic approach.
Bariatric surgery and day-surgeries are routinely offered in the department he chairs. He is actively involved in clinical practice, research and development of new minimally invasive surgical procedures and instrumentation.
The hospital division headed by Professor Rosati treats approximately 2.000 surgical cases per year. He has over 300 experimental and clinical publications. He organizes and coordinates annually a lot of specialist training courses in minimally invasive surgery of the digestive tract.
He is a member of the following scientific societies: American College of Surgeons (ACS), European
Surgical Association (ESA), Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract (SSAT), European Association of Endoscopic Surgery (EAES), International Society for Diseases of the Esophagus (ISDE), European Society for Diseases of the Esophagus (ESDE), Società Italiana di Chirurgia (SIC), Associazione Chirurghi Ospedalieri Italiani (ACOI), Società Italiana di Chirurgia Endoscopica (SICE), Società Italiana di Chirurgia Oncologica (SICO), Gruppo Italiano di Ricerca sul Cancro Gastrico (GIRCG).
He founded and directed the CURE Centre (University Center for Research and Care of Esophagogastric Diseases), University of Milan School of Medicine, until March 2014.
He is the Director of the residency program in General Surgery and a full professor in General Surgery, Vita-Salute University School of Medicine, Milan. He has just founded and directs “CERCA e riCERCA”, a multidisciplinary center at the San Raffaele Research Hospital and the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, for research and care of foregut diseases.back to the search
