Biographie
Dr. Corrado Campochiaro is a Rheumatologist and Immunologist at the Clinical Unit of Immunology, Rheumatology, Allergology, and Rare Diseases at the IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, led by Professor Lorenzo Dagna.
He graduated with honors (110/110 cum laude and special mention) in Medicine and Surgery in 2012 from the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University and specialized in Clinical Immunology in 2018 at the same university, also with honors (70/70 cum laude). During his training, he attended the Transplant Immunology Laboratory at Harvard University under Professor Fiorina and completed a Clinical Research Fellowship in Rheumatology and Systemic Connective Tissue Diseases at University College London and the Royal Free Hospital in London, under the direction of Professor Christopher Denton.
Dr. Campochiaro manages the Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology outpatient clinic, focusing particularly on Scleroderma (Systemic Sclerosis and localized cutaneous Scleroderma), Inflammatory Myopathies (Dermatomyositis, Polymyositis, Antisynthetase Syndrome), Pulmonary Interstitial Diseases related to autoimmune conditions, Large Vessel Vasculitis (Takayasu's Arteritis and Giant Cell Arteritis), autoinflammatory diseases (Adult-onset Still's Disease and VEXAS syndrome), autoimmune Myocarditis, Relapsing Polychondritis, and immune-related adverse events associated with the use of immunotherapy in oncology.
He performs videocapillaroscopy for the study of primary and secondary Raynaud's phenomenon and procedures such as minor salivary gland biopsies and punch biopsies.
His research interests include Scleroderma, Inflammatory Myopathies, Pulmonary Interstitial Diseases associated with autoimmune conditions, Large Vessel Vasculitis, autoinflammatory diseases, autoimmune Myocarditis, Relapsing Polychondritis, and immune-related adverse events linked to immunotherapy.
Dr. Campochiaro is the author and co-author of over 200 publications in leading international journals. He actively participates in national and international congresses in his field and serves as a board member of EUSTAR (the European Scleroderma Trial and Research group), a member of MYONET (the global myositis network), head of the Young Researchers Group within the European Research Network, board member of the Vasculitis Interest Group of the Italian Society of Rheumatology, and leader of the ImmunoTOXicity Supportive Unit (MiTOX Unit) at San Raffaele Hospital.
