Biographie

Dr. Ugo Catrambone is the Head of the Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery Unit at the IRCCS Policlinico San Donato.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Genoa in 1997, with a thesis on the surgical treatment of thyroid diseases. In 2003, he specialized in General Surgery at the same university, which included two international training experiences: one at Brigham and Women's Hospital of Harvard Medical School in Boston and another at the University Hospital of Zurich.

From 2011 to 2012, he attended the General Surgery department at the Hospital of Pisa to obtain a Master's Degree in Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery.

His clinical work focuses on the treatment of thyroid cancers, functional thyroid diseases (such as hyperthyroidism, Graves' disease, Plummer's disease), and multinodular goiter. He also addresses primary hyperparathyroidism, as well as benign and malignant parathyroid tumors, including using minimally invasive techniques.
