Pietro Ramella

Dr. Pietro Ramella is a psychologist and psychotherapist at the Bariatric Surgery Unit of the Istituto Clinico Beato Matteo in Vigevano and at the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele Turro. He also works at Palazzo della Salute, where he leads a program aimed at enhancing psychophysical well-being and teaching stress management through practices like mindfulness.

In 2013, he earned his degree in Psychology from Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, and in 2020, he graduated with honors, specializing in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy from the same institution.

During his university years, he focused on Clinical Psychology, and in his post-graduate studies, he delved into the psychological aspects of Bariatric Surgery, becoming a member of SICOB (Italian Society of Obesity Surgery).

In the same period, he became an affiliate member and later a board member of the Italian Society for Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), receiving certification as a DBT therapist after an intensive course focused on treating Personality Disorders, Eating Disorders, and Substance Use Disorders.

At the Bariatric Surgery Center of the Istituto Clinico Sant’Ambrogio, led by Dr. Lilia Bertolani, Dr. Ramella is involved in:

• Pre- and post-operative pathways related to bariatric surgery
• Assessments for eligibility for bariatric surgery
• Post-operative support.
