Biografie
Dr. Angelo Mastrangelo is an Interventional Cardiologist at the Interventional Cardiology Unit of IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi – Sant’Ambrogio, under the direction of Professor Antonio L. Bartorelli.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna, where he simultaneously earned the title of Alumnus of the Collegio Superiore of the same institution. He completed his specialization in Cardiovascular Diseases at the University of Milan in 2022.
Dr. Mastrangelo believes that optimal cardiovascular health is essential for a fulfilling life. Therefore, he is dedicated to inspiring, supporting, and actively involving patients in managing their cardiovascular health, offering high-quality care with the goal of achieving well-being.
In his clinical practice, he focuses particularly on managing cardiovascular risk factors, and treating atherosclerotic disease, ischemic heart disease, and valvular heart disease. In cardiovascular prevention, he has specific expertise in managing hypercholesterolemia. In the interventional field, in collaboration with the University Interventional Cardiology team, he performs a wide range of procedures, including coronary angioplasty, implantation of transcatheter aortic valves, percutaneous interventions for mitral and tricuspid valve insufficiency, correction of cardiac defects such as patent foramen ovale and atrial septal defects, percutaneous closure of the left atrial appendage, and peripheral angioplasty. His experience also includes the use of advanced techniques for invasive coronary imaging and functional assessment for coronary circulatory conditions, such as vasospastic angina and microvascular angina.
Dr. Mastrangelo’s scientific research focuses on cardiovascular prevention, ischemic heart disease, and valvular heart disease. He actively participates in national and international clinical studies in collaboration with the University Cardiology team.
Additionally, he is the author of numerous scientific articles published in international journals and regularly presents abstracts at both national and international conferences.
