Bariatric Surgery
Gruppo San Donato is home to INCO, the National Institute for Obesity Treatment, which since 2010 has been the national reference center for the multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment of obesity. INCO has treated over 12,000 patients since 2010, reaching a maximum of approximately 1,500 bariatric and metabolic surgery procedures per year. To these numbers must be added the treatment of over 1,000 patients each year who have undertaken a path of nutritional rehabilitation without undergoing a surgery.
INCO carries out surgical interventions with the most innovative video-laparoscopic and minimally invasive techniques, as well as offers dietary and psycho-behavioral treatments tailored to the patient according to an ongoing care and follow-up approach. The surgical visit is the first step, followed by a multidisciplinary evaluation of obesiologists, dieticians, psychologists, psychiatrists and, if necessary, pulmonologists and cardiologists.
