Dr. Emanuela Teresina Locati is a cardiologist of the Clinical Arrhythmology Unit and the Electrophysiology Laboratory at IRCCS Policlinico San Donato in Milan, directed by Prof. Pappone.

In 1983, she graduates in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan. In the same university, she obtains specialization in Cardiology (1985) and specialization in Anesthesia and Resuscitation (1988). During her studies, in 1984, she obtains the certificate "Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates" (ECFMG) in Philadelphia, USA, and in 1991, she attends the course "Cours de Epidemiologie et Statistique Appliquèes à la Medecine" (CESAM, CNRS, Paris). In 1992, she obtains PhD in Cardiovascular Physiopathology; in 1994, she earns PhD in Cardiovascular Physiopathology and in 1996, she follows Post-Doctor course in Cardiovascular Physiopathology at the University of Milan.

She served as Associate Researcher at the Cardiovascular Pathophysiology and Hypertension Center at the Institute of General Medical Clinic and Medical Therapy at the University of Milan (1979-1996); Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Department of Preventive Medicine, Heart Research, University of Rochester (NY) from 1985 to 1996; Associate Researcher at the Computerized Electrocardiography Laboratory, Hopital Lariboisière (Paris) from 1980 to 1992 and Associate Researcher, then Adjunct Professor, at the Institute of Cardiology - Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine at the University of Perugia from 1997 to 2000.

From 2000 to 2018, she is in charge of the Implantable Devices Remote Control and Dynamic Electrocardiography Service and the principal investigator of Clinical Research at Ospedale Niguarda Ca' Granda in Milan.

Dr. Locati works at IRCCS Policlinico San Donato since 2019 as a consultant cardiologist, focusing on Clinical, Electrocardiographic and Cardio Genetic Research in the field of Brugada Syndrome, Long QT Syndrome, hypertrophic cardiomyopathies, arrhythmogenic dysplasia, dilated cardiomyopathies and other cardiac diseases with genetic basis. She is also responsible for implantable devices remote control intended for remote surveillance of implantable pacemakers, defibrillators, resynchronizers and loop recorders.

She is the editor of three books, author of 99 articles in international and national scientific journals (indexed on Index Medicus PubMed), with 30 chapters in books and over 200 invited lectures at international and national congresses.

She has a total Impact Factor of 511, 50 as first or last author (updated in February 2020) and an H Index of 43.
