Prof. Pierpaolo Sileri is the Head of the Colorectal Surgery Unit at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan. He is a Full Professor of General Surgery at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University.
He earned his degree in Medicine and Surgery and completed his specialization at the University of Tor Vergata in Rome. From 1999 to 2002, he trained at the University of Illinois in Chicago, USA, and from 2003 to 2005 at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford University, UK. In 2002, he earned a Master's in Surgical Sciences in Chicago, and in 2004, he completed a PhD in Robotics.
Prof. Pierpaolo Sileri's clinical and research activities primarily focus on studying oncological, inflammatory, and functional diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. He specializes in minimally invasive surgery for gastrointestinal diseases, particularly colorectal cancer, diverticular disease, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, pelvic organ prolapse, and intestinal endometriosis. He applies the latest technologies and techniques in proctological conditions as well.
He is actively involved in various national and international research projects on colorectal diseases. Prof. Sileri is a member of numerous national and international scientific societies, scientific committees, and editorial boards.
A speaker at national and international conferences, he has published over 200 articles in high-impact factor journals.
