Dr. Tommaso Viva is a cardiologist at the Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery Unit of the IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi-Sant'Ambrogio.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2017 from the University of Pisa and specialized in Cardiovascular Diseases at the University of Milan in 2022.

Dr. Viva's clinical work focuses on the use of all echocardiographic techniques (transthoracic echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, echocardiography during pharmacological stress, echocardiography during physical exercise) to assess issues related to valvular heart diseases and cardiomyopathies, as well as the functional study of patients with ischemic heart disease.

He is involved in monitoring cardiac surgery procedures (intraoperative echocardiography) and the selection and intra-procedural monitoring of procedures performed via transcatheter techniques (PFO and atrial septal defect closure, left atrial appendage closure, Mitraclip).

In the field of research, his studies focus on major valvular diseases (patient selection, impact of surgical and transcatheter techniques).

He regularly participates in national and international conferences in his field.
