Valentina Burgio

Dr. Valentina Burgio is a medical oncologist at the Unit of Medical Oncology and Day Hospital Oncology at the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, directed by Professor Stefano Cascinu. Her specific area of expertise includes the management of colorectal and genitourinary tumors.
After graduating with honors in Medicine and Surgery in 2008, she specialized with honors in Medical Oncology.
Dr. Burgio was a Medical Assistant in specialized training at the Unit of Medical Oncology of the "Tommaso Campanella" Foundation for Cancer Research and Care, an Excellence Cancer Center in Catanzaro. There, she was actively involved in managing patients in the outpatient clinic, Day Hospital, and inpatient settings, particularly focusing on genitourinary cancers.
During her specialization years, she participated as a co-investigator in clinical trials and worked as a Medical Specialist in various medical departments and Emergency Rooms.
She actively contributes to Multidisciplinary Teams involved in managing hepatocellular carcinoma and biliary tract tumors.
Her research activities encompass clinical and translational cancer research. Over the past five years, she has been a sub-investigator in numerous Phase II and III clinical studies.
Dr. Burgio is the official representative of Ospedale San Raffaele for the "Survivorship Care" Working Group of the Alliance Against Cancer (ACC).
