Andrea Borini
Biography
Dr. Andrea Borini is in charge of the Policlinico San Pietro Artificial Insemination Center.
In 1986, he received a degree in medicine and surgery from the University of Bologna where he received a degree in gynecology and obstetrics in 1991. Between 2006 and 2009, he completed a Level II Master's Degree in Andrology and Reproductive Medicine.
In the 80s and 90s he attended the Service of Reproductive Physiopathology under the supervision of Professor Carlo Flamigni in Bologna, was interested in steroid hormone metabolism, endometrial cancer, problems associated with menopause and assisted fertilization methods, and was a research fellow at the University of California, Irvine, where attended the "Reproductive Health Center" of Professor Ricardo Ash.
Every day he works to help couples overcome reproductive problems, both from a clinical point of view, using the most advanced methods of assisted fertilization, and conducting research in the field of couples' fertility.
In the early 2000s, he was President of Cecos Italia and ACT Italia, served on the executive committee of ACT International, and subsequently, until 2018, he was President of the Italian Fertility and Infertility Society and the Italian Fertility Preservation Society.
Author of 264 publications, is a reviewer of the journals Human Reproduction and Human Reproduction Update. In addition, a member of the editorial board of Fertility & Sterility, RBM On Line and JARG.
Founding member of the Task Force ESHRE "Fertility preservation in severe diseases", is a partner of leading scientific societies involved in reproductive medicine, such as the International Society for Fertility Presevation (ISFP), American Fertility Society and European Society for Human Reproduction and Embriology, and former President of the Italian Society for Fertility, Infertility and Reproductive Medicine (Sifes Mr).
Founding member of the PRO-FERT, the Italian Society for the Preservation of Fertility, President of the Observatory of Reproductive Tourism, he conducts numerous advanced training courses as a mentor and participates as a speaker in a large number of national and international conferences.
He is currently Director of the 9.baby, the first Italian network of fertility centers, a network created in Bologna based on the experience of Tecnobios Procreazione, now present throughout the country.
Among the main texts of which he is the author are "Fecondazione E (s) terologa", written in 2012 with Prof. Carlo Flamigni, and "Medicine of Human Reproduction" with Filippo M. Ubaldi, written in 2010.
