Andrea Giustina
Biography
Professor Andrea Giustina is Chief of the Department of Endocrinology at the San Raffaele Research Hospital in Milan. Holds a position of Vice-Rector and Professor of Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University (UniSR). President of the European Society of Endocrinology and a member of the Supreme Council of Health.
In 1986 graduated from the University of Brescia (Università degli Studi di Brescia) with a degree in Medicine and Surgery. Professor Giustina began his career as Docent at the University of Brescia, at the same time teaching endocrinology and psychoendocrinology at the School of Specialization in Psychiatry.
From 1991 to 1994, served as Associate Professor of Endocrinology at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, as well as Visiting Professor of endocrinology at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center, University of California (UCLA) in Los Angeles, USA.
In 1997, after having completed specialization in Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases, Professor Giustina was appointed as an Endocrinology Program Director at the Schools of Specialization in internal medicine, gynecology, obstetrics, and sports medicine. He also served as a Program Director for endocrine pathophysiology, endocrine oncology and endocrinopathies courses at the School of Specialization in endocrinology and metabolic diseases.

He is a member of the Commission on International Relations and the Commission on Innovation Proposals at the Italian Society of Endocrinology. Professor Giustina's scientific work has been recognized with the SIOMMMS award.
Professor Giustina has extensive experience as a reviewer of scientific articles and has been a member of the editorial board of prestigious international scientific journals in the field of endocrine and metabolic diseases for many years. He is a member of the editorial board of the European Endocrinology journal. Since 2011 he has been the editor-in-chief of the international journal Endocrine.
Professor Giustina oversees the peer-review process for about 4,000 articles and is the author of over 300 publications in various peer-reviewed journals (H index 67). Also, as a reviewer, he participates in projects MIUR VQR (over 50 peer-reviewed articles) and FIRB. Also, he is an expert of international academic evaluation commissions at the universities of Los Angeles, Michigan and London.

He also leads the review process for about 4,000 articles and he is the author of over 300 publications in various peer-reviewed journals (Hirsch index is 67). In addition, he participates as a reviewer in projects of the Ministry of education, universities and scientific research, such as VQR (Research Quality Assessment) (more than 50 peer-reviewed articles) and FIRB (Fund for Investment in Basic Research), as well as an expert in international economic appraisal commissions at the universities of Los Angeles, Michigan and London.
