Biography
Dr. Luigi Giuseppe Santilio is the head of the Department of Motor Disorders at U. O., a specialist in neurological rehabilitation at the Istituti Clinici Zucchi in Carate Brianza and is the head of the outpatient clinic for the aforementioned pathologies at the same institutes. He is also a Sports Medicine Doctor at ZucchiSport Center of the Istituti Clinici Zucchi - Wellness Clinic in Monza, and he also collaborates with the Casa di Cura La Madonnina in Milan.
In 1997 he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Milan, and in 2002 he received a specialization in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the same university. After that, in 2003, he received a specialization in hypnotic psychotherapy, recognized by M. I. U. R. С D. M. 20.03.1998.
In 2008, he received a specialization in sports medicine at the University of Pavia.
In 2012, he received a Master's degree of level II in the specialty "Diagnostics and therapy of motor disorders and neurodegenerative diseases" at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in cooperation with Istituto Neurologico C. Besta in Milan.
In his department, Dr. Santilio interacts with an interdisciplinary working group consisting of doctors, neuropsychologists, physiotherapists, biomedical engineers, speech therapists, nutritionists, for the global comprehensive and intensive therapy of patients suffering from motor disorders and neurodegenerative diseases.
During his career, he gained experience as an assistant manager and head of the Department of Traumatology, Prevention and Rehabilitation of Sports Pathologies, Manual Medicine, motor Disorders and Neurodegenerative Pathologies in the Functional Rehabilitation department of Ospedale Multimedica in Limbiat (MV). For eight years, he also served as a consultant physiotherapist specializing in motor disorders and neurodegenerative pathologies at the Foundation of the IRCCS Istituto Neurologico Carlo Besta in Milan.
He has worked as a physiotherapy consultant and sports doctor in many medical institutions in the region and sports federations, and is currently a physiotherapy consultant at FIDAL, the Italian Athletics Federation.
Dr. Santilio participated as a speaker at national congresses of various scientific societies, including: SIN, SIRN, SIMFER, SIAMOC, LIMPE-DISMOV.
