Filippo Caternicchia

Dr. Filippo Caternicchia is an orthopedic surgeon and traumatologist at the Orthopedics and Traumatology Unit of the IRCCS Policlinico San Donato.

He graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Palermo in 2017. He then specialized, again with honors, in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute, Alma Mater Studiorum, University of Bologna in 2023.

During his training, Dr. Caternicchia attended the Human Physiology Laboratory at DIBIMED of the University of Palermo and furthered his studies at the University of Malta and the University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates. During his specialization, he focused on shoulder, hip and knee reconstructive surgery, with advanced training in robotic and arthroscopic knee surgery.

He currently focuses on reconstructive shoulder surgery (tendon reconstruction and prosthetic surgery), as well as hip and knee surgery, with particular attention to prosthetic and arthroscopic techniques.

Dr. Caternicchia is the author of numerous publications and abstracts in Italian and international medical and orthopedic journals and regularly participates in national and international conferences in the field.
