Antonino Giulio Battaglia

Dr. Antonino Giulio Battaglia is an orthopedic surgeon at the Hip Surgery Department at IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi - Sant’Ambrogio. He also collaborates with Palazzo della Salute-Wellness Clinic and Smart Clinic. He also collaborates with the Hip Prosthetic Surgery Unit at Istituto Clinico San Siro.

In 2016, he graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome. In 2021, he completed his specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology with honors at the University of Milan.

Following his specialization, Dr. Battaglia won a scholarship from the scientific society EFORT to work at the “Clinique du Sport” in Paris, directed by Dr. Frederic Laude, focusing on Minimally Invasive Hip Surgery.

He contributed to his thesis on anterior cruciate ligament injuries at the FIFA center in Porto, Portugal, “Clínica do Dragão FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence,” which was later published in a scientific journal (KSSTA).

He received the award for Best Poster Presentation at the International Joint Meeting organized by SIdA (Italian Hip Society) and A.I.R. (Italian Association of Joint Replacement), held in Riccione from April 20 to 22, 2023, for a multicenter study titled “Accuracy in the Positioning of the Acetabular Cup Compared to the Surgeon’s Preoperative Planning in Primary Hip Prosthesis Using Standard Instrumentation and Techniques.”

Dr. Battaglia is an active member of EHS (European Hip Society), SIdA (Italian Hip Society), and EFORT (European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology).

His main areas of focus include hip and knee pathologies (arthritis, necrosis, femoro-acetabular impingement, prosthetic revisions), prosthetic infections, knee pathologies (meniscal and ligament injuries), foot and ankle pathologies, cartilage regenerative medicine (PRP and Lipogems), and ultrasound-guided hip injections.

Dr. Battaglia has several scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and has spoken at numerous national and international conferences. He is also the author of chapters in orthopedic books and monographs and collaborates on various orthopedic research projects, particularly concerning hip prosthetics.
