Dr. Domenico Compagnone is a Spinal Surgeon at the GSpine4 Unit of IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi – Sant’Ambrogio.
He earned his degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" in 2015, and in 2021, he completed his specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the University of Milan.
In 2016, Dr. Compagnone completed a 3-month Observership at the Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital in New York, focusing on adolescent deformity correction. Following his specialization, in 2022, he undertook a 6-month Fellowship at the Spine Unit Vertebra - Institut Européen du Dos in Bordeaux, France, where he furthered his expertise in adult deformity correction.
In 2022, he was awarded an AO Spine Short-Term Fellowship, which allowed him to spend a month at the BG Unfallklinik Frankfurt am Main gGmbH in Frankfurt, Germany, where he honed his skills in the surgical management of spinal trauma and complex trauma cases.
Dr. Compagnone primarily focuses on the study and treatment of spinal pathologies. His key areas of interest include:
- Treatment of spinal deformities (idiopathic scoliosis and adult scoliosis)
- Management of degenerative spinal conditions (spondylolisthesis, disc herniation, discopathy)
- Treatment of spinal tumors
He utilizes a variety of techniques, including conventional strategies, as well as minimally invasive and endoscopic approaches.
Dr. Compagnone is the author and co-author of numerous scientific publications featured in international journals on clinical research and spinal pathologies. He is a member of leading scientific societies in the field, including AOSpine and Eurospine, and is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences on the study and treatment of spinal conditions.
