Federico Longhitano

Dr. Federico Longhitano is a neurosurgeon at the Neurosurgery Department of the IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi in Milan.
He graduated with honors from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Catania in 2012. In 2019, he received a Master's degree in Neurosurgery with honors from the University of Milan.
While receiving a master's degree in medicine and Surgery, he undergoes various internships in neurosurgical departments:
- Knappschaftkrankenhaus in Bochum (2009),
- Dr. Jurasz University Hospital in Bydgoszcz (2010),
- Carl Gustav Carus University Hospital in Dresden (2011).
While receiving his specialization, he moved to Barcelona to Hospital del Mar and Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, deepening his experience in spine and skull base surgery there.
Dr. Longhitano is an expert in the field of cervical, spinal and lumbosacral degenerative spine surgery using microsurgical and neuronavigation techniques for arthrodesis (spinal stabilization) and intracranial surgery with microsurgical and neuronavigation techniques (benign and malignant tumors).
He also deals with disorders of the kinetics of cerebrospinal fluid (obstructive hydrocephalus, chronic hydrocephalus of adults) and infringement of peripheral nerves (carpal tunnel syndrome).
