Francesco Rodolfo Luigi Alamanni

Professor Francesco Rodolfo Luigi Alamanni is a Cardiac Surgeon and Director of the Second Chair of Cardiac Surgery at the Cardiac Surgery Unit of IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi-Sant'Ambrogio and Palazzo della Salute in Milan.

In 1978, he graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Sassari. In 1981, he specialized in Angiology and Vascular Surgery at the University of Milan, and in 1990, he further specialized in Cardioangiology Surgery at the University of Padua.

• 1983: Cardiac Surgery Assistant at the Centro Cardiologico Monzino.
• 1986-2001: University researcher, first in General Surgery and later in Cardiac Surgery, at the Universities of Sassari and Milan.
• 1992: Appointed as Assistant with responsibility for a Cardiac Surgery department at Centro Cardiologico Monzino, Milan.
• 2000-2021: Head of the Cardiac Surgery Unit at Centro Cardiologico Monzino, Milan.
• Early 2000s: Director of the Institute of Cardiology at the University of Milan.
• 2001-2005: Associate Professor of Cardiac Surgery at the University of Milan.
• 2005-present: Full Professor of Cardiac Surgery at the University of Milan.
• 2008-2013: Director of the School of Specialization in Cardiac Surgery at the University of Milan.
• 2009-2021: Director of the Cardiovascular Surgery Program.
• 2019-present: Serving a second term as Director of the School of Specialization in Cardiac Surgery at the University of Milan.
• 2021-2023: Commissioner for the National Scientific Qualification in Vascular, Thoracic, and Cardiac Surgery.

He is an active member of several prestigious organizations, including the European Society for Cardiovascular Surgery, the Italian Society of Cardiac Surgery, the International Society of Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery, and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
