Biography
Professor Alessandro Baj is the head of the Maxillofacial Surgery Department at Ospedale Galeazzi-Sant'Ambrogio.
He is Associate Professor of Maxillofacial Surgery of the Department of Biomedical, Surgical and Dental Sciences at the University of Milan. Prof. Baj also holds a possition of the Director of the School of Specialization in Maxillofacial Surgery at the same university.
He obtained his medical degree in 1997 from the University of Parma and then specialized at the same university in Maxillofacial Surgery in 2002.
In his career, Prof. Baj has performed about 1,000 post-traumatic and reconstructive surgeries, more than 1,000 post-oncologic and reconstructive oncologic surgeries, and about 300 surgeries to correct facial dysmorphia.
With a wealth of experience, he has gained recognition for his expertise in microsurgeries and is renowned as a pioneer in developing minimally invasive surgical techniques. Additionally, he is an authority in implementing technological innovations within the field of reconstructive surgery.
He is the author of more than 79 publications and 5 textbooks. Had been citated over 920 times. He consistently participates in conferences of the field.
