Andrea Luca
Biography
Dr. Andrea Luca is orthopedic at the Vertebral Surgery Unit III of the IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi – Sant’Ambrogio.
In 2003, he graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bari, where he obtained his specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology in 2008.
During his career he has had several international fellowships: in 2006 at Schulthess Klinik in Zurich, in 2008 at Hospital de Valle D'Hebron in Barcelona, in 2012 at The Children's Hospital of St. Louis on developmental vertebral deformities, in 2013 on degenerative cervical pathology at Osaka City General Hospital, and on the same topic in 2017 at New York Presbyterian Allen Hospital.
His fields of primary interest are the diagnosis and treatment (conservative and surgical) of vertebral deformities of the age of development, cervical pathology, degenerative, in particular, and degenerative lumbar pathology.
He is author of 17 publications in national and international indexed journals.
His most recent studies were done in the following areas: biomechanics of the spine and spinal implants, infections in spine surgery and new technologies in medicine (Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality).
