Barbara Baronio
Biography
Dr. Barbara Baronio is assistant cardiologist - Clinical Head of the Cardiac Surgery Unit at the Ospedale Galeazzi-Sant’Ambrogio.
She graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan with highest honors in 1994, and in 2000 she completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Insubria with honors.
Dr. Baronio has experience in all adult cardiovascular diseases, in particular in Cardiological Critical Care, heart failure, and echocardiographic imaging. In the field of heart failure, she has been responsible for the treatment of patients in advanced stages to be selected for heart transplantation and / or implantation of left ventricular assist devices.
Dr. Baronio is also pro tempore clinical director of Covid-19 Unit.
At the Cardiac Surgery Unit, she is in charge of:
- preparatory clinical framing of patients admitted for cardiac surgery;
- sub-intensive and postoperative inpatient management;
- echocardiographic imaging;
- clinical medical management of the patient throughout the hospital stay.
Dr. Baronio performs outpatient activities in heart failure and conducts clinical research in cardiac surgery.
