Daniele Andreini

Professor Daniele Andreini is the head of the Clinical Cardiology Unit at the Ospedale Galeazzi-Sant'Ambrogio.

In 1999, he received Degree in Medicine from the University of Milan with honors and subsequently specializations in Diseases of the Cardiovascular System (2003), in Radiodiagnostics (2008), and Ph.D. in Clinical Methodology (2012) from the same University.

In 2010, he completed an internship abroad on Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Heart at Columbia University in New York City. He has been University Researcher at the University of Milan since 2012 and subsequently, since 2019, Associate Professor in Cardiovascular Diseases at the same University.

Since 2003, he is Staff Member of the Heart Failure and Clinical Cardiology and Cardiovascular Imaging Operating Units of the Monzino Cardiology Center in Milan, Italy. Since 2013, he is head of Cardiovascular CT Unit, and, since 2019, Professor Andreini is head of the Sports Cardiology Center at the same hospital.

Prof. Andreini is a nationally and internationally recognized expert and a member of the board of directors of major European and American scientific societies (Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, European Association of CV Imaging, Euro-PCR) in the field of advanced cardiovascular imaging and noninvasive study of coronary atherosclerosis, with particular expertise in the following areas:

• Coronary CT and Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging
• Ischemic Heart Disease
• Cardiomyopathies and Heart Failure
• Sports Cardiology

In particular, Prof. Andreini has extensive clinical experience in the areas of noninvasive early diagnosis of coronary artery disease, primary prevention of acute myocardial infarction risk, and diagnosis of heart disease that can lead to sudden cardiac death. 

He is author of more than 400 publications in prestigious international scientific journals, a member of the executive steering committee of over 15 international trials, and the first author or co-author of several international Guidelines, including the European Society of Cardiology document on cardiovascular disease management during COVID-19.

Prof. Andreini is a member of the Editorial Board of the scientific journals "Eurointervention" and "Journal of Cardiovascular CT".
