Giulio Frontino
Biography
Dott. Giulio Frontino is a pediatrician at the Pediatric Unit of the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, under the direction of Dr. Graziano Barera.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan in 2007 and specialized in Pediatrics at the same institution in 2014. Subsequently, he completed two second-level master's degrees: one in Pediatric Emergencies and Urgencies at the University of Turin in 2018 and another in Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetology at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan in 2020.
In clinical practice, Dr. Frontino focuses on managing pediatric patients in the Emergency Department, particularly in pediatric emergencies. He specializes in pediatric endocrinology and diabetology, with a particular emphasis on the treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis at onset. He also utilizes advanced technologies such as insulin pumps, sensors, artificial pancreas systems, and telemetry monitoring. His research interests include the study and management of monogenic diabetes, especially Wolfram Syndrome.
In terms of research, Dr. Frontino is part of the Diabetes Research Institute (DRI) team in Milan and a member of the JENIOUS Group of the International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD). He serves as a consultant for INNODIA, the leading European network dedicated to the prevention and treatment of type 1 diabetes, and collaborates with AISPO as an expatriate pediatrician and with the Sostegno70 Association as a pediatric diabetes consultant.
Dr. Frontino is the author and co-author of over 50 scientific publications in national and international journals and has an H-index of 13.
He is involved in clinical trials and regularly participates in national and international conferences in his field.
