Lorella Fanti

Biography

Dr. Lorella Fanti heads the Functional Department of Digestive Endoscopy in the Department of Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy of the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, headed by Professor Silvio Danese.

After graduating in 1983 from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Milan, in 1987 she specialized in gastroenterology and digestive endoscopy at the same university.

For many years, Dr. Fanti has been conducting diagnostic and operative endoscopic gastroenterological procedures on the digestive system (colonoscopy, diagnostic and operative gastroscopy), pancreas and biliary tract (esophageal, enteral, biliary and colonic prostheses), both planned and in emergency conditions. Since 2002, she has been an adjunct professor and lecturer of the Integrated Gastroenterology course of the specialized Course of Medicine and Surgery at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University.

She is the author of numerous articles published in national and international journals, and her Hirsch index is 17. In particular, she is an expert in the field of sedative analgesia in endoscopy of the digestive tract. She is a member of the SIED (Italian Society of Digestive Endoscopy), in the past she was the coordinator of the corporate research group of the Italian Society of Digestive Endoscopy on sedation during endoscopic procedures, of which she is currently a member.
