Marco Matucci Cerinic
Biography
Professor Marco Matucci Cerinic is a rheumatologist at the Unit of Immunology, Rheumatology, Allergology and Rare Diseases of the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, directed by Professor Lorenzo Dagna, where he also serves as Scientific Referent.
He is a Full Professor of Rheumatology at the Università Vita Salute San Raffaele and Chairman of the World Scleroderma Foundation.
After graduating in Medicine and Surgery from the Università degli Studi di Firenze in 1980, he specialized in Rheumatology at the Università degli Studi di Genova in 1984, and in 1987, obtained a PhD in Experimental Rheumatology from the Università degli Studi di Siena.
Professor Matucci Cerinic’s clinical activity focuses on the treatment of patients with immunological and rheumatological diseases, with a particular interest in rare immune-mediated diseases. Specifically, the professor specializes in the early diagnosis and treatment of:
- systemic sclerosis
- myositis
- Sjögren's syndrome
- osteoarthritis
- arthritis
- spondyloarthritis
To date, his research interests are mainly focused on the pathogenesis, diagnosis, and advanced and innovative therapy of autoimmune diseases, particularly Systemic Sclerosis.
He is the author of more than 1,320 original scientific articles published in international journals. His H-index is 99. He regularly participates as a speaker and moderator at national and international conferences in the field.
