Riccardo Cecchinato

Biography

Dr. Riccardo Cecchinato is a vertebral surgeon in the GSpine4 Operational Group of the IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi – Sant’Ambrogio.

In 2008, he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the Vita Salute San Raffaele University, and in 2014 he received a specialization in orthopedics and traumatology at the University of Milan.

He carries out most of his specialization in the Department of Vertebral Surgery II of the IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi under the supervision of Prof.Claudio Lamartina and Dr. Roberto Bassani, and during these years he oversees the activities of the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York for a certain period.

He is mainly engaged in the study and treatment of pathologies affecting the spine.

In particular, his area of interest includes:

  • treatment of tumors
  • treatment of deformities (idiopathic and adult scoliosis)
  • treatment of degenerative diseases of the spine (spondylolisthesis, disc herniation, discopathy).

In his surgical activities, he uses both traditional and minimally invasive methods for the treatment of these pathologies.

Author and co-author of numerous scientific publications in international journals in the field of clinical research and spinal pathology.

Speaker of numerous national and international congresses on the treatment and study of spinal pathologies.

Instructor of practical courses on training and teaching techniques of vertebral surgery.
Member of the editorial board of the European Spine Journal and orthopedic surgeon of the Italian AOSpine Council. In 2019, he was elected a member of the Eurospine Educational Committee.

Currently, he carries out surgical, outpatient activities in the departments of the IRCCS Ortopedico Galeazzi in the field of spinal pathologies.
