Silvio Danese
Biography
Professor Silvio Danese is Director of the Department of Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy at the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele and Professor of Gastroenterology at the Vita Salute University in San Raffaele. He also collaborates with the endoscopy service at Policlinico San Marco in Zingonia.
His training began with an honors degree in medicine and surgery in 1999 from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome, where he later specialized in gastroenterology. From the same university, he received his PhD in Nutritional Physiopathology and Metabolism in 2006. From 2001 to 2004, he was in America as a Research Associate at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio (USA).
Clinically, the professor specializes in chronic inflammatory bowel diseases. He is also an expert in digestive endoscopy and general gastroenterology.
As for scientific activity, he is engaged in the study of pathogenetic mechanisms and the action of biological drugs in chronic inflammatory bowel diseases.
He is a member of several scientific societies, including:

He is the author and co-author of more than 750 publications in industry scientific journals and book chapters. His Hirsch Index is 92 (Scopus). He constantly participates in national and international industry congresses.
