Simone Sala
Biography
Dr. Simone Sala is a cardiologist and arrhythmologist in the Department of Cardiac Arrhythmology and Electrophysiology at the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele under the supervision of Dr. Paolo Della Bella.
After graduating from the University of Milan in Medicine and Surgery in 2001, he specialized in cardiology at the Vita Salute San Raffaele University of Milan in 2007.
Clinically, Dr. Sala heads the clinic of "genetic arrhythmias", where patients with genetic pathologies with possible arrhythmic manifestations are observed. He is also responsible for the department of myocarditis diseases. The interventional activity of the doctor is mainly characterized by: implantation of defibrillators and pacemakers (end-cavity, electrodeless and subcutaneous), catheter ablation of ventricular and supraventricular cardiac arrhythmias (with traditional or cartographic access), percutaneous closure of the left atrium and endomyocardial biopsy. Dr. Sala also carries out clinical activities as a cardiologist, dealing in particular with: checking implantable devices, treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, diagnosis, and treatment of myocarditis and outpatient observation of patients with genetic diseases with possible manifestation of arrhythmia.
From the point of view of research in the field of arrhythmology, genetically determined pathologies with a possible arrhythmic pattern, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of patients with myocarditis, are of particular interest.
He is the author or co-author of more than 90 original scientific articles published in international journals and book chapters. His Hirsch Index is 22. He constantly participates as a speaker and moderator at national and international congresses in this field. He is a reviewer of important international medical journals.
