Policlinico San Marco

The Policlinico San Marco has a strategic geographical location at the border between Bergamo and the south-eastern part of the province of Milan, and functions as a modern multi-specialty hospital that is also accredited by the Italian National Health System. Existence of all medical specialties, latest generation medical equipment, constant training of doctors and nursing staff make it a reference center for the whole area for various medical treatments.

Among the jewels of the facility is the refractive surgery with PRK laser for correction of visual defects, orthopaedics and traumatology, and obesity surgery. In line with the mission pursued, which is captured in the personalization, effectiveness and quality of care, technological innovation and efficiency of organizational processes, all with the aim of providing the patient with the finest quality standards, since 2009 the hospital is certified according to UNI EN ISO 9001 criteria.

During the two-year period in 2016-2017, the structure was also awarded with Due Bollini Rosa honours, a recognition given by Onda-Observatory for women's health to structures that stand out for the attention to women and their needs.

With 8 highly specialized centers, units and outpatient clinics, the Policlinico San Marco is able to respond in a way qualified for patient care needs, delivering both outpatient and inpatient services as well as 24-hour emergency services.

In 2016, more than 13,000 hospitalizations were carried out, over 720,000 outpatient services, nearly 260,000 emergency relief services for a total of more than 170,000 patients. Such numbers were made possible with the commitment of over 230 specialist doctors and about 450 nursing staff and technical staff.
