Dr. Antonio Cigliola is an Oncologist at the Medical Oncology Unit of IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele.  

In 2017, he graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome, where he later specialized in Medical Oncology in 2023.  

To broaden his international experience, in 2018, he spent time in the United States at Duke University Medical Center, where he had the opportunity to train in a world-class medical environment.  

Dr. Cigliola is dedicated to providing personalized care for patients with genitourinary oncology conditions, based on the most advanced scientific research. At the same time, he is pursuing a PhD in Molecular Medicine, focusing on developing new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies to improve the treatment of urothelial tumors. His main areas of expertise include the diagnosis and treatment of genitourinary cancers, such as bladder, prostate, kidney, testicular, and rare tumors. The team he is part of is at the forefront of studying new drugs for genitourinary cancers and was among the first worldwide to introduce perioperative immunotherapy for bladder tumors.  

He is actively involved in numerous phase I, II, and III clinical trials for all genitourinary malignancies, aiming to develop increasingly innovative and targeted therapies. His research interests primarily focus on developing novel therapeutic strategies for patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer, with particular attention to optimizing perioperative treatment. Additionally, he studies and treats kidney, prostate, and rare tumors, striving to identify advanced therapeutic solutions that can improve patient prognosis and quality of life.  

Dr. Cigliola has authored several scientific publications in indexed journals and has presented numerous studies at international conferences.  

He is an active member of prestigious international scientific societies, including AIOM (Italian Association of Medical Oncology), ESMO (European Society for Medical Oncology), SIURO (Italian Society of Uro-Oncology), Meet-URO (Italian Network for Genitourinary Neoplasms), IBCN (International Bladder Cancer Network), IBCG (International Bladder Cancer Group), and ASCO.
