Dr. Cinzia Trumello is a cardiac surgeon in the Cardiac Surgery Unit, led by Prof. Francesco Maisano, at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan.
She graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Palermo in 2008 and specialized in Cardiac Surgery at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan in 2014. Immediately following her specialization, she joined the Cardiac Surgery Unit at San Raffaele, then led by Professor Ottavio Alfieri.
Since then, she has been performing surgical and clinical duties in the same unit, with a particular focus on minimally invasive mitral, tricuspid, and aortic valve surgery.
Dr. Trumello also serves as a tutor for students and residents in the Cardiac Surgery Residency Program at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University.
She is the author or co-author of numerous articles published in indexed journals, with an H-index of 9. Dr. Trumello regularly participates as a speaker at national and international conferences in the field. She is a member of the Italian Society of Cardiac Surgery (SICCH) and a founding member of the Italian Association of Women Cardiac Surgeons, aI DOCch.
