Dr. Luigi Nocera is a urologist at the Urology Unit of the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan, directed by Professor Francesco Montorsi.
He earned his degree in Medicine and Surgery in 2017 from the University Vita-Salute San Raffaele, where he completed a research fellowship at the Vattikuti Urology Institute in Detroit during his final year, under the direction of Professor Menon, a pioneer of American robotic surgery.
In 2023, he specialized in Urology at Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan, further enriching his curriculum with two highly specialized fellowships. The first was a uro-oncology research fellowship at the Centre Hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM), Canada, under the guidance of Professor Pierre Karakiewicz. The second was a robotic surgery fellowship at the Onze Lieve Vrouw (OLV) Ziekenhuis in Aalst, Belgium, directed by Professor Alexandre Mottrie, a pioneer of European robotic surgery.
He serves as the Italian Delegate for the European Society of Urology Residents (ESRU).
Dr. Nocera's main clinical interests include prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia, bladder cancer, renal cancer, and robotic surgery.
He is the author of over 80 publications in the fields of urology and uro-oncology published in major indexed European and international journals. His H-index is 19. He consistently participates in national and international conferences as a speaker and moderator.
