Dr. Raffaella Molfetta is an internist and coordinator for the Adult Cardiac Surgery Unit and the Cardiology Department at IRCCS Policlinico San Donato, responsible for preoperative and postoperative care.
She graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2002 from the University of Rome La Sapienza, where the medical school follows an English-style educational model. In 2007, she completed her specialization in Internal Medicine at the same institution.
During her specialization, Dr. Molfetta worked alongside cardiology specialists at the I Medical Clinic of Policlinico La Sapienza in Rome, participating in clinical and outpatient activities, as well as working in the internal medicine ward and hypertension clinic.
In addition to caring for cardiac surgery patients before and after their operations, she leads the Oral Anticoagulant Therapy Clinic, primarily serving patients with a history of mechanical valve replacement, as well as those on novel oral anticoagulants (NOACs). Dr. Molfetta also collaborates with cardiac surgeons in research activities.
