Tedora Nisi

Dr. Teodora Nisi is a cardiac surgeon at the Cardiac Surgery Unit of the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan, directed by Professor Francesco Maisano.

She graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery in 2011 from Vita-Salute San Raffaele University and completed her specialization in Cardiac Surgery in 2018, also with honors, at the same institution. During her studies, she undertook training periods in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery and Adult Congenital Heart Surgery at the IRCCS Policlinico San Donato in Milan, under Professor Alessandro Giamberti, and at the Thoraxcenter of the University Medical Center in Groningen, Netherlands, under Professor Massimo Mariani.

Dr. Nisi addresses the full spectrum of cardiac surgery conditions using both traditional and minimally invasive approaches for the treatment of valvular diseases (repair or replacement).

Her other areas of interest include obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, surgical treatment of atrial fibrillation through thoracoscopic procedures, and heart failure surgery involving the implantation of ventricular assist devices (L-VAD), as well as the follow-up of L-VAD patients in multidisciplinary collaboration with the dedicated team. Additionally, Dr. Nisi is a member of the Endocarditis Team at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, a multidisciplinary group aimed at evaluating and treating patients with infectious conditions affecting cardiac structures.

She is the author and co-author of numerous publications in indexed journals (current H-index: 8) and book chapters, and she regularly participates in national and international conferences in the field. Dr. Nisi is also a member of the Italian Society of Cardiac Surgery (SICCH) and the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS).
