Biography
Professor Adriano Lazzarin is an Honorary Professor at the Vita-Salute University of San Raffaele and a consultant at the Department of Infectious Diseases of the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele Turro. He also works at Casa di Cura La Madonnina in Milan.
His studies began in 1970, when he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Milan. Majored in Endocrinology at the University of Genoa (1974). At the University of Milan, he first received a specialization in internal medicine (1979), then in infectious diseases (1982).
Since 1987, he has been the principal investigator and coordinator of several HIV and hepatitis research groups. He is the winner of the “Excellence in HIV Medicine" award, awarded by the European AIDS Conference (EACS). He is a member of national and international health commissions.
He is the author of more than 800 scientific articles published in journals such as New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, Blood, Nature, Hepatology, AIDS, Journal of Infectious Diseases, Clinical Infectious Diseases, Science, Annals of Internal Medicine, Annals of Oncology, Journal of Neurology and Journal of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndromes.
