Giovanni Carlo Cesana
Biography
Dr. Giovanni Carlo Cesana is the referent of the Department of Oncological Surgery of the Department of General and Oncological Surgery of the Policlinico San Marco.
He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Milano-Bicocca in 2001.
In 2005, he participated in a postdoctoral fellowship in tumor immunology at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.
In 2006, he received his Master's Degree in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery from Germany.
In 2007, he received a specialization in general surgery at the University of Milan-Bicocca.
He received two Master's Degrees in 2008 in:
- Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery – Germany
- in Robotic Surgery at the Special School of Robotic Surgery ACOI in Grosseto
Dr. Cesana conducts research in the field of general, oncological and bariatric surgery.
Over the years, he has gained considerable experience and scientific and technological knowledge in the field of laparoscopic, metabolic and bariatric surgery.
He pays attention to the development of new methods and materials and, in particular, the impact of bariatric surgery on the metabolism of patients with severe obesity.
He has received an internationally recognized award and participated in numerous joint research projects.
He is a member of the Italian Society of Obesity Surgery, the Italian Society of Surgeons and the Italian Association of Hospital Surgeons, author, and co-author of about 45 articles and abstracts published in international journals, about 30 chapters in books.
During his career, he has participated as a speaker at more than 35 national and international congresses and conferences.
