Biography

Dr. Marta Bargagna is a cardiac surgeon at the Cardiac Surgery Unit, led by Prof. Francesco Maisano, at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan.

She graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pisa in 2015 and obtained her specialization in Cardiac Surgery with honors from Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in 2021.

During her studies, she completed training periods at the Pediatric and Adult Congenital Cardiac Surgery Unit of IRCCS Policlinico San Donato in Milan and at the Heart Transplant Surgery and Surgical Treatment of Heart Failure Department of ASST Papa Giovanni XXIII in Bergamo.

Dr. Bargagna's clinical work focuses on reparative and replacement surgery of the mitral, aortic, and tricuspid valves using both traditional and minimally invasive approaches; minimally invasive and hybrid surgical myocardial revascularization; and aortic surgery.

Her main areas of interest include obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and surgical treatment of cardiac arrhythmias via thoracoscopic approaches.

She is the author and co-author of numerous publications in indexed journals and book chapters, with an H-index of 7 as of 2024.

Dr. Bargagna regularly participates in national and international conferences in her field.
