Biography

Dr. Paolo Preziosa is a neurologist at the Neurology Unit of San Raffaele Hospital, led by Professor Massimo Filippi.  

He earned his degree in Medicine and Surgery from Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in 2010, where he also specialized in Neurology in 2016 and obtained a Ph.D. in Molecular Medicine – Neurosciences and Experimental Neurology in 2019.  

Dr. Preziosa is a senior researcher in Neurology at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, a researcher at the Neuroimaging Research Unit, Division of Neuroscience, and a neurologist at the Neurology Unit and Multiple Sclerosis Center at IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital. He specializes in treating conditions such as multiple sclerosis and other inflammatory diseases of the central nervous system (e.g., neuromyelitis optica, vasculitis).  

His research focuses on the application of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in multiple sclerosis (MS) and other demyelinating diseases to improve diagnostic criteria, better define their pathophysiological substrates, understand the mechanisms leading to the progressive accumulation of irreversible physical disability and cognitive decline, and monitor treatment responses.  

He is the author of numerous peer-reviewed articles in indexed journals and book chapters. His H-index (Scopus) is 24. He actively participates in industry conferences.
